Coinciding with full interior refurbishment of this beautiful historic seventeenth century barn, the clients required a full design for their walled town garden. Careful consideration of materials sympathetic to the age of the property were key. The bothy at the end of the garden was the perfect focal point. As well as a strong, symmetrical layout, creation of height through planting and gentle level changes were implemented. The final garden design impresses not only from the ground floor but also from the upper balcony. Structural, seasonal planting with a limited colour palette provide a wonderfully calm yet beautiful environment, despite the property’s central town location.
